Lady Gaga is planning to spend the rest of her life with Michael Polansky.

The pair confirmed their romance in February 2020 by going Instagram official, with Gaga posting a photo of the two cuddling on a yacht. Four years later, the couple got engaged on April 1, 2024, while on a rock climbing trip. Polansky proposed to the A Star Is Born actress with a large oval-cut diamond set on a diamond pavé band.

Speaking with Vogue in September 2024, Gaga opened up about how Polansky helped fulfill the “missing piece” in her life of “having real love.”

“I had never met anyone like Michael,” she said. “He’s so smart and so kind. And his life and my life are very different. He’s a very private guy and he’s not with me for any other reason than that we are right for each other.”

Gaga added, “But I think what I want my fans to know is that I’m just, like, so happy.”

Since confirming her engagement in the summer of 2024, Gaga has given fans glimpses of her jaw-dropping diamond ring, including at the Venice International Film Festival in September 2024 and on the Grammys red carpet in 2025. Gaga’s engagement ring features a large oval diamond

Gaga’s custom engagement ring is fit for a mega pop star. The massive sparkler features a large oval-cut diamond. It’s set on an 18-karat white and rose gold diamond pavé band with natural pink ombré diamonds and includes a hidden white diamond halo.

The stunning ring was designed and handmade by Sofia Jewelry, a jewelry store based in Mill Valley, Calif.

The ring is estimated to cost around $1 million

Gaga’s diamond engagement ring carries a high price tag. According to Page Six the ring is estimated to cost anywhere from $500,000 to $2 million, depending on the center stone's carat size.

Polansky proposed on April Fool’s Day in 2024

Since Polansky popped the question on April Fool’s Day, a day known for pranks, Gaga revealed on The Graham Norton Show that she initially “thought he was joking.” She later opened up about the moment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and said the pair were rock climbing when he proposed a few days after the singer’s birthday.

“He didn’t propose to me at the top. We climbed up to the top ... took some photos and then we went back down,” Gaga said. “And we were just walking back to the room and talking and he said ... it was very Michael, to ask me if he could ask me.”

She added, “He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed and I was like, ‘Yes! It’s so OK!’ ”

When host Jimmy Kimmel asked Gaga if Polansky got down on one knee, she responded, “No, he didn’t. But you know what, I’m a modern lady, I like what he did.”

She confirmed her engagement in July 2024

Gaga first sparked engagement rumors a few days after the proposal in April 2024 when she was photographed with a diamond ring peeking out from her coat sleeve. A few months later, she accidentally confirmed the news when a TikTok shared by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal showed the singer introducing Polansky as "my fiancé” at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In September 2024, Gaga shared on The Graham Norton Show how difficult it was to keep her engagement a secret when she had several public appearances planned.

“When we went to the Olympics, we were filmed saying hello to the Prime Minister [Gabriel Attal] and I was caught on camera saying, ‘This is my fiancé,’ ” she said. “I had wanted to keep it a secret!”

Gaga put her engagement ring on display for the first time at the Venice Film Festival in September 2024. She was there to promote her film Joker: Folie à Deux and arrived hand-in-hand with Polansky. Gaga wore a black-and-white polka dot mini dress by La Roxx, sheer tights, black pumps and black sunglasses. The actress gave photographers a good look at her engagement ring by holding her hand up to show off her large oval diamond.

Gaga’s mom predicted she’d marry Polansky

Before Gaga met Polansky, her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, predicted that the pair would eventually marry after she encountered him first at an event.

"My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ Gaga told Vogue in September 2024. "I said, 'I'm not ready to meet my husband!' "

She added, “I could never have imagined that my mom ... found the most perfect person for me?”

Gaga also shared with the magazine that she later met Polansky at a birthday party for Napster Founder and Facebook co-founder Sean Parker in December 2019.

“I got invited [to Parker's party] and I said, ‘I wonder if Michael is going to be there,’ and my mom said yes," the Grammy winner recalled. "So I went to the ​party and I kept asking for him and he finally came over to me and we talked for three hours. We had the most amazing conversation.”
