The new docuseries shares never-before-seen footage from O.J. Simpson’s prank show Juiced.

Those involved with Juiced reflect back on the “f---ed up” project.

No, this is not a prank: O.J. Simpson once had his “own version of Punk’d.”

Back in 2006, a decade removed from being acquitted of the murder of his ex-wife and her friend, the infamous former NFL star tried to make a comeback with the hidden-camera show Juiced, a one-time pay-per-view special. Twenty years later, Entertainment Weekly has your exclusive look at the new docuseries that goes inside the controversial project.

“There’s no way anybody with half a brain cell thought a show about O.J. Simpson pranking people would be a good idea,” former ESPN anchor Jemele Hill declares in the trailer for Investigation Discovery’s O.J. Unseen: Exploitation of Evil.

In the clips from Juiced, Simpson dresses up as Elvis Presley, an old white man, a janitor, and a gangster-type. He even goes as far as trying to sell the Bronco that was involved in his widely viewed attempt to flee from police. “You know I made this car famous,” he tells someone, before then signing the vehicle.

And it all leads to his catchphrase, “You’ve been Juiced,” a play on his nickname, “Juice.”

Some of those involved with the show took part in Exploitation of Evil, revealing that Juiced became “a front to get O.J.’s confession,” as he was a “chatty Cathy” after a few drinks.

“We shouldn’t be talking about this on camera,” Simpson says in new behind-the-scenes footage. “You motherf---ers, be prepared. I know exactly who did it.”

In 1994, Simpson was arrested in connection with the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. The next year, he was the defendant in the trial of the century, eventually being deemed not guilty. He was later found liable in civil court for the wrongful deaths. Simpson’s public image was forever tarnished, and he constantly participated in shameless and appalling content, whether it be Juiced or his 2007 book and accompanying interview, If I Did It.

In 2007, Simpson was arrested for kidnapping and burglary, serving nine years in prison. He died in April 2024 following a battle with cancer.

The four episodes of O.J. Unseen: Exploitation of Evil premiere Sept. 7 and 8 at 9 p.m. ET on ID, and will be available to stream on HBO Max. Watch the trailer above.
