Meghan Markle shared a sweet peek into her home birthday celebration alongside her husband Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex turned 45 on Tuesday, August 4. She posted a series of Instagram Stories to show how she spent her special day.
The updates began with a black-and-white picture of her jumping into a swimming pool while holding birthday balloons. “Thank you for the birthday love,” she wrote across the photo.

In the next clip, Meghan posted a video of herself grooving in her kitchen. The “Happy Birthday” track played while food cooked on the stove. Off-camera, her husband, the Duke of Sussex, playfully said, “Oh, dear,” causing her to laugh.
Meghan was dressed casually for the clip. She wore a white T-shirt featuring the phrase “It’s Giving Mrs.” She paired it with white lounge pants and a bright birthday headband.
In a third slide, the couple tried placing tiny party hats on their two dogs, black lab Pula and beagle Mia. Prince Harry spoke softly to the pets, telling them to sit and stay for the camera.
Interestingly, Meghan shares her birthday date with Harry’s late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, who was born on August 4, 1900. In his 2023 memoir Spare, Harry recalled when King Charles learned his daughter-in-law was born on the same date as his beloved grandmother, as reported by People.
“The bond between Meg and Pa, always strong, grew even stronger during that weekend. One night, over pre-dinner cocktails, Fred Astaire playing in the background, it emerged that Meg shared a birthdate with Pa’s favorite person: Gan-Gan,” Harry wrote. “ ‘Amazing,’ Pa said with a smile.”

Questioning if she doesn’t want to maintain her privacy now, one social media user wrote, “Oh, there goes everyone invading her privacy again.”
Another user poked fun at her royal status, commenting, “Well, if you can’t dance in a castle with a real tiara, I guess you might as well in California with a paper one.”
Meanwhile, a third user claimed that the clip was not filmed recently, pointing out the kitchen backdrop. They wrote, “In her most recent stories, the kitchen at Château Merdes de Montecito has been painted white. This is old. ‘It’s giving Mrs.’ ? Is that an attempt to dispel the divorce rumors? So predictable.”
One more pointed out the same thing, writing,”So how old is this video? In another recent post you could see that her kitchen cabinets had been painted white presumably while they were on the 2 week vacation or maybe before and in this video the kitchen is still all dark wood.”
Slamming Meghan for being ‘attention-hungry’, a netizen wrote, “She is the only person in pop culture that requires all this birthday attention. Down to wishing herself a happy birthday. So freaking thirsty. This is why people hate her.”
