Reacher star Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine, are ending their marriage after two decades together.

The couple announced their separation Saturday in a joint statement posted to Instagram, saying they plan to remain closely connected as they focus on raising their three sons.

"After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way," they said. "We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world." The news follows Ritchson scoring a major Netflix deal after savaging Donald Trump.

Ritchson, 43, and Catherine married in 2006 after reportedly meeting while he was attending college and taking a dance class. They share sons Calem, 13, Edan, 12, and Amory, 10.

Although their relationship is changing, the couple said they remain grateful for the years they spent together and intend to approach their separation with mutual respect.

"Nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us – or the love and respect we will always share," they continued.

"The best gift we can give one another – and our boys – right now is friendship, grace, and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be."

The pair did not disclose what led to their decision to separate. Instead, they emphasized their desire to support one another as they begin a new stage of their lives.

"We also want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming," Alan and Catherine added. "Change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in. We hope, especially for the sake of our boys, that you will allow our family to move through this chapter with privacy and compassion."

They ended the announcement by thanking those who have supported their family.

"Thank you for supporting us as we continue making the health and happiness of our family our priority," they concluded.

Ritchson is best known for playing former military investigator Jack Reacher in Amazon Prime Video’s action series Reacher.

He has also appeared in Fast X, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and the television series Titans, in which he portrayed Hank Hall, also known as Hawk.

Catherine has largely maintained a life outside the spotlight, though she has occasionally accompanied her husband to premieres and other public events.

Ritchson has also previously shared glimpses of their family life through interviews and social media.
