Reacher star Alan Ritchson announced on social media that he and his wife, Catherine, had called it quits after 20 years of marriage.
The two shared the news in a lengthy Instagram post statement, which read, "After twenty years together, Cat and I have decided to end our marriage and continue alongside one another in a different way. We grew up together. We built a life and a family together. And we are raising three incredible boys who will always be the center of our world."
Both Alan and Catherine further explained that "nothing can diminish what these years have meant to us" and - or the love and respect we will always share." Their divorce came after Alan candidly shared that he once tried to take his own life and something 'divine' ultimately saved him.

They went on to pen, "The best gift we can give one another - and our boys - right now is friendship, grace and a commitment to becoming the strongest co-parents we can be."
Also, the two divulged that they "want to give each other room to grow into the people we are becoming," adding that "change is hard enough without the whole world weighing in."

In their message, the two also asked for "privacy and compassion" while they continued to navigate their breakup with their sons Calem, Edan, and Amory, concluding their statement by listing "the health and happiness" of their family as their "priority."

Even though they're making their split public now, Alan previously filed for divorce from Catherine in December 2025, per an online court records system for Williamson County, Tennessee.
In May 2006, Alan and Catherine married and had their oldest son, Calem, son Edan in 2013, and their son Amory in 2015. Alan and Catherine initially met during ballet class in high school, according to the actor, who opened up about the origins of their relationship in a 2022 Today interview.
Alan shared that at the time of their early romance, Catherine would bring him cookies before his performances, before he swooned, "Of course I fell in love."
The former high-school sweethearts celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary in May 2021, with Alan honoring the special date in an emotional Instagram post.
"15 years ago today two kids got married. They had no idea what splendid and terrible things lie ahead of them when they made that vow to remain each other's partner in life, come what may," he wrote, in part, then. "Despite the precarious highs and the suffocating lows, they're still holding hands."
