‘Today,’ ‘GMA’ & ‘CBS Mornings’ Ratings: Who’s on Top & Who’s Lagging Behind?

The latest morning show ratings spell positive news for ABC News' Good Morning America and NBC News' Today, both of which saw increases in total viewers and the coveted Adults 25-54 demographic.

According to AdWeek, citing Nielsen's national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, Today remained in the top spot for the week of June 1, averaging 2.928 million total viewers and 640,000 demo viewers. This was up 1 percent in total viewers and up 7 percent in the key demo compared to the previous week.

Today, co-hosted by Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin, also saw significant year-over-year growth, up 22 percent in total viewers and the demo compared to the same period in 2025.

ABC News' Good Morning America held onto the No. 2 spot, averaging 2.702 million total viewers and 470,000 demo viewers for the week of June 1. Compared to the week before, the show was up 1 percent in total viewers and up 11 percent in the key demo.

GMA, co-hosted by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan, was also up on the same period last year, with a 4 percent increase in total viewers and a 3 percent increase in the demo.

Meanwhile, CBS Mornings trailed with 1.693 million total viewers and 285,000 demo viewers for the week of June 1. This was down 4 percent in total viewers compared to the week prior, though it was up 1 percent in the key demo.

Compared to last year, CBS Mornings, hosted by Gayle King and Nate Burleson, was down 4 percent in total viewers and remained flat in the demo. It was the only show to be down in one of these measured categories in the year-over-year comparison.
