In season 3 of America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, fans watched as 14 dancers from across the globe vied for a coveted rookie spot on the 2025-26 team roster — including Utah native Savanna Dastrup.

The Netflix series, which returned for a third season on June 16, followed Dastrup and her fellow rookie candidates as they endured the most competitive DCC training camp to date. With the largest returning veteran class in team history, only six spots were available — meaning eight cuts needed to be made during the final round of the audition process.

Those difficult decisions were in the hands of DCC director Kelli Finglass and head choreographer Judy Trammell, who evaluated the women as they attempted to master the team's iconic (and physically demanding) high kicks and jump splits. As training camp wound down, the duo made several cuts to determine the final roster.

One of those emotional eliminations was Dastrup, dashing her lifelong dream of becoming a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

So, where is Savanna Dastrup now? Here's everything to know about her life after being cut during DCC training camp.

Dastrup hails from Orem, Utah, where she grew up with her parents, Dusty and Summer, and her younger brother, Watson.

Like most DCC hopefuls, Dastrup began dancing from a young age. Though she always had a love for performing, it wasn't until she saw an episode of the CMT reality show Making the Team that she decided she wanted to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

Dastrup began taking DCC prep classes at the age of 15 and selected her college — Texas Christian University — based on its proximity to Dallas. She danced on the TCU Showgirls there for all four years of her college career and drove to Dallas every weekend to attend more prep classes.

Soon after her TCU graduation in May 2025, Dastrup was invited to the final round of DCC auditions, where dancers must perform a solo for a panel of judges, including Finglass, Trammell and Cowboys' co-owner Charlotte Jones. From finals, 44 dancers were invited to training camp — and Dastrup was among them.

"This has been my dream forever," Dastrup shared on America's Sweethearts. "And I'm right there."

She was cut during training camp

From the onset of training camp, Dastrup impressed Finglass and Trammell with her showmanship.

"[She] has a presence about her," Finglass remarked in America's Sweethearts. "I called her a firecracker."

But throughout her audition process, Finglass and Trammell had concerns over Dastrup's height, worrying that Dastrup, at just 5' 3", wouldn't be able to stand out while dancing in an NFL stadium. As training camp progressed, Dastrup started to fall behind the other dancers — and she ultimately became the third cut.

"I think you have great potential as a performer, and this is just a very competitive room of dancers," Finglass told Dastrup in an emotional conversation. "But ... you're not in the top 36. To me, you were stronger at the beginning of training camp."

As she tearfully digested the news, Dastrup asked if she returned the following year, if she had a chance at making the team. Both Trammell and Finglass encouraged her to come back and try out again.

"You might just chalk this up to timing and experience and the pressure," Finglass told Dastrup. "But I think you've got the skills to make this team or another team."

Dastrup later reflected on her experience at training camp in an emotional Instagram post. In it, she referred to training camp as a "dream come true" and expressed her gratitude for the opportunity.

"Little Savanna has been dreaming about this for so long, and I think she'd be so proud!" Dastrup wrote in the caption. "Although things didn't turn out how I'd hoped this year, I will be forever grateful for each and every experience I had!"

The Utah-based dancer also indicated both on the Netflix show and in her post that she planned to try out for the DCC again in 2026. "I will be back next year," she told Finglass and Trammell.

"I can't wait to continue chasing my dream and reaching for the STARS!!🌟💙," she added in her Instagram caption.

After getting cut from DCC training camp in 2025, Dastrup traded Texas for Paris to attend fashion school.

"I never thought I'd be going back to school and I never thought I'd be, like, this excited for it," Dastrup said on TikTok about her decision to study fashion abroad. "I feel like I was meant to do fashion in Paris."

Dastrup spent the fall of 2025 in Paris and traveled throughout Europe during her semester in France, visiting Madrid, Belgium and the French Alps. She continued to jetset after completing her stint at fashion school with trips to New York and Miami. In April 2026, Dastrup celebrated her 23rd birthday in Miami.

She's currently an instructor at The Young Company in The Colony, Texas, alongside DCC Madie Krueger.

Dastrup vowed to Finglass and Trammell that she would be back to try out again in 2026 — and she stayed true to her word. The dancer once again made it to the finals round of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders auditions in June, where she performed her solo to "Brick House" by The Commodores for the panel of judges.

"This one speaks to me," she said about her song selection in an Instagram video. "I can show my personality and a little funkiness."

Following finals, Dastrup was one of the dancers invited to DCC training camp in 2026 — bringing her one step closer to realizing her dream of making the team.

"Still on cloud 9!! I'm so so grateful and excited for this opportunity! 🥹🌟💙," Dastrup commented on a DCC Instagram post announcing their rookie candidates.
